  a friend of mine recently had his co visit and in the elders meeting the co out-right asked the question: how are the friends doing in your cong.

  as regards pursuing higher education?

  the co continued...you know in view of all the counsel from the slave regarding the dangers.

  Graphic violence against a Jehovah's Witness in the name of entertainment

  a so called friend of mine sent me this link to a music video.. the song seems to be ridiculing jehovah's witness's and their practise.. but more disconcerting is the visual content, which actually shows the assault and murder of a jehovah's witness.. i can appreciate there is an element of humour involved, but find it in pretty poor taste.. and in no way a positive message to the populace and for the safety of jehovah's witness's in general.. .

  an elder called and left me a voicemail today.

  I am not interested in acknowledging them in a way that makes them feel they have any authority over me. Mrs. Dazed will deal with the problem with her mom if one comes up. I really don’t think her mom would stop talking to her because of a DFing. Her mom is cooler than most JWs.

  If she is determined not to lose contact with her family but you don't give a sh&t, she could attend the JC and point the finger at you (like Lost Gen says).

  I thought of this as well and I'm fine with it if it comes to that.

  LostGen - I like the "Sign with an X" so at least I could read the letter. I may do this if they send a registered letter.

  The ONLY problem I see with the "JW defender" channel from a legal standpoint is that they're using what might be a trademarked symbol owned by the WTBTS: that little blue "JW.org" emblem.

  They removed the JW.org logo and changed it to a JW Defense logo for their profile picture.

  

  They did keep the jw.org link however.

  Oh man, I wish I still played. I used to play COD as much as possible. I got rid of the 360 a couple months after my daughter was born. I was Bonecrush3r and then ShadowAssa55in. I miss my gaming days.

  Now its Mario on the Wii with my son.

  Worst Ever Field Service Experiences

  generally i found most people were pretty apathetic and often surprisingly tolerant , but we've all had some bad ones.

  looking back , here were my worst couple of experiences - there probably were others but i've probably long forgotten them or blanked them off.. i was a kid of maybe 13 & it was bitterly cold & pouring with rain.

  i was working alone in a middle class street near my school where i knew a lot of my school teachers lived & was scared stiff at every door half the time pretending to press bells , doing the fake knock etc.

  I was maybe 14 or 15, there was a medium size dog that was loose. It ran up to me and put its 2 front paws on my chest. It was very excited. Once I pet it and pushed it away, I noticed my pants were warm and wet. It pissed all over my legs and book bag.

  My uncle-in-law used to post here. He started sometime in 2003 I think. When I was in he was careful not to say too much against the ORG. Now that I’m out, we talk regularly. I go back and read his posts sometimes.

  Anyone from Kennewick Washington area… Tri-Cities? I would be curious if there were any from the area I grew up in from the late 80s to early 2000s?

  They aren’t giving up yet. At 9:45am just now they knock on the door. I didn’t answer. It was an “elder” I know and one other guy I don’t know. We have Christmas decorations up. The TV was blaring and when I looked out the peep hole we made eye contact. When I used to go out in service, I would keep looking at the peep hole to see if there is movement. Im sure he saw the light flicker when I looked through the hole.

  If I continue to ignore their calls and knocking on our door, will they leave us alone? Mrs. Dazed doesn’t want to lose contact with her mom. She fears this may happen if anything is perused. What would you recommend?

  What are you doing on Christmas day?

  any one out there doing field service?

  i have not gone out on that day in years.

  and have no intention of ever doing that again.

  Watching my beautiful kids open their first ever Christmas presents. I will spend Christmas Eve putting together a kitchen play set for my daughter, and then loosely wrapping it so she can easily tear into it- she’s a year and a half. Then after the presents are opened, I will probably set up the Wii U I got for my son… Shhhh…he doesn’t know… and play Zombie-U and the new Mario Brothers game with him until we go to Mrs. Dazed’s sisters house for ham and turkey dinner. Eat way too much and come home and pass out.

  I can’t believe your “loving” eldumasses want to ruin the mornings of so many people. If I remember right, each hall I was in – in the past – would always be mindful not to disturb people on their “worldly holidays.” It would be the least affective day for service. “Yeah, lets go piss off more than the usual number of people by ruining their holiday celebrations…YEA!”

  If a local elder or group came knocking on my door Christmas morning, I’d want to punch the guy out.
